What's a good way to lower temps on this card? I have a msi liquid x and it can get insanely hot. My entire room feels like it was back in the xbox 360 era with it being a heater.

I got R9 380 (4 GB) from 2015. So, happy to spend (literally) 0 $ in last 9 years for "nvidia/amd/intel" trio. They stopped compete and allied with "price fixing crime" on us. Not sure, if they assumed pc world is stupid and never gonna find out about what they do, but... game is over... I'll be happy to keep what I got and continue to do not buy their overpriced graphics cards... If they return to healthy competition and offer right products for the right price, I may consider to get a gpu among "RX 8000" , "RTX 5000" , "Battlemage" options. Otherwise, forget it...

With CPU oc there is very minimal difference compare to ram tuning. That's where a lot of performance is hiding.

I would upgrade but I'm not paying 200€ for a card that is just as good as my card now which I bought for 180€ brand new back in 2017

I had these issues on a newly built 13600K system, and it nearly drove me insane, as I couldn't record music. Many things can/need to be done, but I place the main blame on Windows 11, and Windows in general (lazy bastards). I found these fixes to be very helpful: - Disabling Core parking (as mentioned in this video) with ParkControl (free) or other application that starts with Windows. - Disabling all CPU power-savings in BIOS, along with disabling C-states entirely (also power related), virtualization, maybe even Hyperthreading, along with few other options, depending on the MB. - Assigning interrupts to individual physical processors with Microsoft Interrupt Affinity Tool Especially an Nvidia GPU, Realtek MB audio, and networking modules. Assign to higher core numbers, to free up cores most frequently used in applications (core 0) Basically, individual components will then not momentarily lock up a CPU whenever they tick/ping, which is what DPC is really about, as I understand. - Changing MSI interrupts (check online for help) - High performace Windows Power scheme helps to a degree. Make sure to download PowerSettingsExplorer to enable showing some options not available by default; Processor idle demote/promote threshold. You can set both to 100% I've never seen mouse cursor lag on a modern system not under extreme loads, but the audio issues are enough to make a pc useless to me. For individual prosesses visible as culprits in LatencyMon, Wdf01000.sys is likely USB devices, so you can assign Host controllers to CPU cores that aren't doing much.

I upgraded from 6700xt to a 7900 GRE and in 2026 I'll get a 7900 xtx or whatever the next leap of it is

Got a feeling were going to find out Intel lied to motherboard manufactures and skewed numbers so they could claim they were still ahead of AMD and they were really behind or on par and were already overclocking there chips out the ass while claiming headroom they didn’t have.

I don't know what people expected. That the 5080 would match or lose to a 4090 was inevitable. And it's not entirely NVIDIAs fault. Remember that the US government banned the sale of 4090s and cut down 4090s to China and censored nvidia for trying to finess around the restrictions. The 5080 is all but confirmed to be the gpu earmarked for global release, including China. For that to happen it needs to be on that line of not as good as a 4090. Violating those laws could result in large fines or at worst nvidia on the OFAC list of SDNs and banned from transacting in the US and having everything seized.

Buy now, the 5000 series is not looking good aside from the 5090.

Windows is literally terrible. Nothing is ever plug and play. If you really want the best out of your system you have to put in so much work, all because windows does not care about performance. Somebody needs to come out with a new OS that can finally dethrone windows

Only VR needs more res and frames, so if they want to push new graphics cards the focus needs to shift to VR gaming. Raytracing was just nvida's latest hair works, looks cool but adds little.

I do simracing. I prefer stable frames over graphics quality. I can't enjoy the raytracing anyways so I just turn it off. Just upgraded to a 4070 and I am kind of regretting it. After the honeymoon phase of playing all my games on the highest settings possible, I'm back playing racing titles at 1080p 60fps because it's the fastest way around the track.

PC is long on the tooth, alot of want is done can be done. Sure I can upgrade ram from 32 to 64, GTX1060 6GB to a 12GB to higher, m.2 from SSD. But what do I get, same netflix, youtube, making pdfs, scanning, search files names and even inside the doc for 1000s . Only need for more if I decided to go to 4k video producton. Real issue now is the power consumption is 100x over what I needed 10 or 20 years ago. Really only doing 10% more. Very diminished returned.

i bought 6700 for my main pc in late 2021. but i also still game on rx580 in big tv, ghost of tsushima 1080p high/fsr-q still manage 50-60fps. it's enough. we just need to lower setting or lower fsr to still game on newest AAA game, and it's still beautiful.

If you're unwilling to spend $3,000 on a new 5090 to help fund the cause, they won't pay much attention to you. They will first release the base version 5080 with 12GB VRAM to keep selling 4090s for a while. About three months after the initial launch of the 5080, they'll release a 5080 Ti Super, priced $300 cheaper and with 16GB VRAM. That way, you believe you got a great deal a bargain if I do say. After making millions from early burst buyers-basically the pre-ejaculators of buying GPUs-they'll eventually release the 5090 with 48 GB VRAM so random RUclipsr 6,324,234 can brag about how he is playing Minecraft at 1500 fps, 10k max settings on his 240 Hz 4k display. To make all those early buyers envious and convince them to pretend they will sell their $1800 5080 12 GB in the future. This way, they can justify purchasing the new 5090 48 GB and feel like they've won the tech race.

$2000 video cards was a huge wake up for everyone that Nvidia doesn't give a single fuck about gamers. Stop being FOMO. The bean counters love you. I will never buy a new video card from that company ever.

No reason to upgrade, all the games are trash, I play 5+ year old games, literally no reason to play anything new besides Indie games which don't require monster hardware anyways.

i'm still on a gtx 1080 and i'm doing fine. Bought my Pc in late 2016 and can't get my self to upgrade yet. i was ready in 2020 to upgrade, but the gpu shortage did ruin that dream for me. :D now i have 3 kids and dont have the needed energy to game so a new pc has become a little obsolete ;O

My 6800xt is staying put until GTA6 will release on PC. WHICH MAY BE YEARS AND YEARS FROM NOW. I'm happy about the fact I got mine way early in its lifecycle and it is a great card

I wait for months now to final drop from -100 euro from 315 to 219 euro

My early production 13900K was experiencing issues with stuttering, crashes, large power draws at idle and, the most annoying issue is the USB ports randomly drop and reconnect. I tried 3 different motherboards, 4 different RAM brands, 3 different power supplies, BIOS revisions and settings, etc. I went back and forth with Intel and they agreed to RMA the CPU. I updated the motherboard BIOS, applied the latest ME firmware and recommended BIOS settings from Intel and Initially, the problem seemed like it was solved. Now, the USB connection issues are back and some slight stuttering is happening again. On top of all of this, the motherboard onboard 2.5Gb NIC's have always had disconnect issues (which I solved by installing a 10Gb Marvel NIC) and with all of these issues compounding, I'm done with Intel. I'll be switching to AMD when the 9950X3D comes out next month.

Likely why games break with Lasso limits is... they see 16 Threads but you limited it to 8 , now the games want to process 16 threads but only have 8 = dead. with Bios deactivation they only see 8 threads so they adjust and want to process 8.

I can get 3 mini pcs with 32GB RAM and 1 TB Gen 4 NVMe SSD with an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS that is perfectly fine for Baldur's Gate 3 for less than Greedvidia asks for a 4090 they also use less power... For people who thinkt they need the RT bs hope your overpriced GPU looks nice next to your 500HZ Display, 3D TV, VR Headset and your gold plated audiophile cables.

Still using the 5700XT Nitro+ I bought at the start of 2020, in fact the whole PC is the same. I haven't found any games that tax it, but I also just don't really like any of the modern games, they are so poor compared to older titles. As a 45 year old gamer I'm constantly going back to Xcom 2 for example, Aliens Dark Descent was good, but no problem for my graphics card. I can't be bothered with the latest online shooters, too old 😆

It's AMD fanboy's fault. You keep buying trash AMD GPUs at lower price instead of asking AMD to actually compete in terms of features and performance.

Somthing to think about is that it's becoming increasingly common for people to have more than one PC. I've got a GTX 1080ti in my second pc.
